She was headed to Uganda, he was headed to Russia. They wished each other happy travels, but it wouldn’t stop there. Skype brought them together one night where they shared about their travels and caught up. It wasn’t until Alisha shared the details of a mutual friends wedding with Matt she’d watched via Skype that the two realized there may be more to this long distance relationship. After many Skype chats and conversations via messenger they grew to know each other more and more. One week while spending time with family in Paris, Matt stayed busy and couldn’t find the time to chat with Alisha. When he made it back to Russia, Alisha casually one night after Skyping, asked where the two of them were headed. A close international relationship followed. After meeting Alisha’s parents via Skype, Matt decided it was time to marry this girl. Matt made his way from Russia to Uganda, ring in hand, to visit his bride to be. His proposal didn’t go exactly as planned, but she said yes and that’s all that mattered. It was a long but enjoyable engagement until the two made their way back to America to finally spend their relationship side by side. On May 24th they came together with friends and family from all over to say “I do” in downtown Hattiesburg, MS at The Venue. The chairs for their ceremony designed into a circle symbolized the unbroken chain of love that they were celebrating. Not too far away from their smiling faces repeating their vows was a small table with a laptop and close friends tuning in via Russia to cheer them on.
Congratulations Alisha and Matt. We wouldn’t have wanted to spend our Saturday anywhere else. Meeting the two of you had enriched our lives for the better. Best of luck to you!
