They never thought in a million years that they would be anything more than friends. Lorie and Nathan shared a love of comics, computer games, and goofing off since high school, but it wasn’t until college when they began to see each other in a new light. Lorie slyly sneaked Nathan into asking her out to the local Applebee’s for dinner one night. They laughed and discussed how perfect the weather would be for tornado chasing that night. They ended the night with horror movies and a hug.
After many all night movie-a-thons, trips to Lake Sardis, and never ending hijinks, Nathan popped the question they never thought would come. He showed up to her office and invited her to lunch. His jitteriness (is that a word?) and overdressed wardrobe caused some suspicion, but Lorie never turned down tasty food. They showed up at her favorite sushi restaurant and spent time chatting. Then the food arrived… Lorie’s eyes did a double take and her heart seemed to jump out of her chest. There in the middle of a heart made of sushi was the most beautiful ring she’d ever seen. Nathan got down on one knee and asked for the extreme honor of being her husband and without a thought Lorie fell into his arms with a swift “Yes!”
