“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19
We recently made the move back to our hometown in Mississippi. We had some great memories in Pensacola but are glad to be back “home.” One of the last memories we made was with our amazing home church, Liberty Blue Angel Campus. I had the honor of photographing 117 baptisms in one Sunday! I watched in awe as small children, couples, youth, elderly, and even entire families stood and professed their faith.
The event was called Plunge. The church had bags of t-shirts and shorts prepared for anyone who felt led to get baptized that day. One hundred and seventeen people acted in obedience as they took those steps, tears in their eyes, in front of many. I will never forget the look on their faces. I watched as prayers were answered from God. Men stood up and professed their faith as God calls them to for their family. Children shared their love for Jesus as tears streamed down their faces. Many could barely contain the excitement they felt for their Father.
We are not saved by baptism, but by faith in Jesus Christ and His blood. Baptism is the outward symbol of what has already transpired in the heart of the one who has trusted the Lord Jesus Christ for full salvation.
Awesome!
Love these photos! thanks for sharing such a wonderful blessed event!
