Music makes my world go round.

Music has always been a huge part of me. It’s something that I could not do without. I’m one of those gals that absolutely must have music on in the car, while I’m cleaning, and even when I’m just thinking. I was always one of those students that listened to music while doing homework. Back before my life consisted of a husband and 3 kids, I wore headphones to go to sleep. I believe more than anything that music can change your mood. I believe it can excite you, or it can bring you down. Music can relate to you in times of heartache and it can sore with you in times of achievement.

Four years ago God blessed me with a man that not only sings like an angel, but also plays guitar very well. I admit right here, right now that it was his beautiful voice that first attracted me to him. When we first started courting one another he would sing “I will follow you into the dark” by Death Cab for Cutie. I still sit and reminisce about those days.  I would sit and admire his gorgeousness and how easily those words flowed from his sweet lips. I am so thankful to have him to sing me to sleep with a cover by my most favorite artist, Ray Lamontagne. If you don’t know who is you MUST check him out.

Isn’t he angelic?!

Paul knows the deep desire I have for music and how much I’ve always wished I could play guitar. Until a few days ago I didn’t know though that he truly KNEW how much it meant to me. I’ve attempted to learn in the past despite time constraints, no guitar of my own, and lack of knowledge. Paul self taught himself by learning some of the most advanced songs you could possibly play, he amazes me. A few days ago the kids, Paul, and I decided to take a walk around the block. We gathered up Keller’s spiderman scooter, Kolter in his Winnie the Pooh stroller, and 6 tennis shoed up feet and we hit the pavement. As we headed back in Paul, to my shock, said  “are you ready for your birthday present?” My birthday isn’t until August 13th! Of course I’m not one to pass up gifts so I readily accepted his offer! Paul then precedes to the TRUNK of his car… What the heck?! I had no idea what was gonna pop outta that thing! The next thing I know I’m staring at the most beautiful guitar, perfectly new, and perfectly for me. I couldn’t believe that God had shown him the desire I so desperately had to play. After a few thousand hugs and kisses we made it back up to the condo to test that baby out! I am in love, again. I can’t say it’s gonna be easy, but nothing that’s worth it ever is. I will play till my fingers bleed and my desire is 100% fulfilled.

Thank you once again Paul for being so thoughtful in the process of finding me a gift for my 26th birthday. You continue to rock my world.

Whatever it is that you desire deep down in your soul, always know that it can be accomplished.

PLAN. PREPARE. PROCEED. PURSUE.
