WHEW! VBS is over. We had a wonderful week taking pictures for Vacation Bible School at Liberty Church here in Pensacola. There is nothing like seeing so many kids worship God and have a blast doing it! Even though it rained all week, the rain never got in the way of any of the activities. There were a few things that we learned while we were there this week:
1. Goofy faces are still being invented. Humans have been around for thousands of years, but somehow children are able to make faces that have never been made before.
2. Mickey Mouse has been overtaken as the universal cartoon symbol for kids. I don’t believe every 3 year old knows who Mickey Mouse is. They do however know who Spongebob Squarepants is. A few guys at the church made a Spongebob out of cardboard (or something like that) and walked around in it. He was referred to as “Squareshorts” as to avoid any potential binding lawsuits. All of the kids knew who it was, instantly (or sooner).
3. Kids, like Spongebob, are sponges themselves. Those little minds soaked up all of the Biblical knowledge that was dropped on them this week. Our own kids had a blast and have a better understanding about what Jesus did for them. Very cool :)
Here are a few of our favorite pics from VBS. Enjoy!
